Born in Yambol, Bulgaria, and based in London, UK since 2006 – Boyan Ivanov is one of the most promising clarinettists of his generation. He enjoys a diverse portfolio as a soloist, chamber and orchestral musician and has performed at many prestigious venues including the Barbican Centre, Royal Festival Hall, Royal Albert Hall, Queen Elizabeth Hall and Cadogan Hall among others. Graduating from the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, London in 2010, Ivanov has since gone onto a vibrant freelance career, playing regularly with a variety of orchestras including the Hastings Philharmonic, Ensemble OrQuesta, Vox Vanguard, London Arts Orchestra among others. Recent engagements include successful tours to China with the Plovdiv Philharmonic Orchestra (Bulgaria) in which he performed Mozart’s Clarinet Concerto (December 2018) and L. Bassi’s “Rigoletto” Concerto-Fantasy (December 2019) as a soloist, and a debut concert in Brazil playing with Orquestra Sinfônica do Rio Grande do Norte.
